Landscape Design Services & Benefits
What Is An At-Home Design?
Our professionally trained Landscape Designer or Architect will meet with you to discuss your landscaping desires. Their goal is to always design a plan that reflects your personality and taste by listening to your wants and needs closely. After you meet with one of our designers, they will take detailed measurements of the design area so that they can create a to-scale professional landscape plan. Designs are drawn off-site and then sent to you about two weeks after their visit. If you will be using a landscape contractor to install your design, they will easily be able to follow your plan as drawn.
What Does A Design Cost?
For front yards or backyard areas up to 5,000 square feet, our on-site design cost is $449. This flat fee includes the initial meeting with you to discuss your goals, precise measurements of the area, and the professionally drawn landscape plan that you get to keep. On average, a residential design will typically take our designers approximately 4 hours to complete. For front yards or backyard areas that are more than 5,000 square feet (or more complex designs), an additional fee of $75 per hour will be charged. Your designer will assess your yard and let you know beforehand the design cost.
Plant Discounts For Six Months!
Customers who purchase a landscape design plan will also receive 15% off regular-priced landscape plants for 6 months at The Family Tree Garden Center. This will give you the time to complete your plan in stages. Our designers are well aware of what plants do best in the area, and they will always recommend plants that are readily available to purchase at our store (depending on the season). You can also call the store to have the plants from your plan pulled for you, so all you have to do is pick them up and install them. In addition, we offer FREE delivery services with a $1000 plant purchase.
One Year Guarantee On Plants
We guarantee all of our in-stock trees, shrubs, and perennials for one year from the date of purchase. Your paper receipt is required at the time of the exchange, so please keep a copy of your receipt in your records. For dead plants (non-resellable trees, shrubs, or perennials), store credit or a replacement plant will be issued. Store credits are valid for one year from the date of issue. Only one exchange or replacement will apply per plant.
Work With Our Plant Pros
When you are ready to shop for your landscaping plants from your completed design, let our plant professionals help you through the process. Sometimes, you might find that the plants from your plan are no longer available or you just want to see other varieties and options. Our trained plant professionals will be able to assist you at the store to find similar plants that are from your original plan or suggest other options that you might like better.
Free Delivery With Plant Purchase*
We offer professional delivery services for your plants and garden products in our enclosed truck. For FREE delivery, just purchase $1000* worth of plants and materials (not including sod or straw). The delivery area must be within a 10-mile radius of the store. Every mile over the 10-mile limit will incur an additional per-mile fee. For purchases of $1 to $999, we also offer delivery for a fee of $75 within a 10-mile radius, plus an additional per-mile fee after that.

If you just need some design advice, have questions about what to plant, need suggestions for a challenging growing area, or want to identify different plants in your yard, we can also come out to your home for a Landscape Consultation instead. One of our designers will meet you at your location to offer design ideas or answer any of your landscaping questions. The consultation is verbal (no drawn designs), so have a pen and pad ready to take notes! Two-hour consultations cost $199 per visit. Additional hours will be charged $75 per hour.
